A great disaster occurred as part of the Reverend Ernest Bruce Methodist Church in Adabraka in Accra collapsed.
The church building reportedly gave way on Friday January 22, 2021, when some people were inside the building.
According to a report YEN.com.gh Watched on GH One TV, two people are said to have died from the collapse of the church.
Videos emerged showing scenes of the building collapse some of which were seen by YEN.com.gh.
In one of the videos, many onlookers who rushed to the scene to offer help are spotted trying to scour the rubble for survivors.
But tried as they did they couldn’t do much because they didn’t have the necessary equipment.
In another video, one of those trapped under the rubble was rescued by staff from the Ghana National Fire Service who arrived at the scene.
The rescued man looked very weak with visible injuries as he was brought from a stretcher to the ground while waiting for a vehicle to be sent to hospital.
The collapse of the Adabraka church comes just three months after a similar incident occurred in Akyem Batabi in the eastern region.
As reported by YEN.com.gh, a multi-storey church has collapsed on worshipers while they were having a church service.
The collapsed building trapped more than 100 worshiping people at the time and 22 people were confirmed dead.
