Erykah Badu went on Twitter Sunday night to try to clarify his "prayer" for R. Kelly, which she spoke at a Saturday concert in Chicago.
"I do not know what everyone feels about it, but I'm now doing a prayer for R.," she told the crowd before referring to the long-standing allegations of badual misconduct against the singer, detailed in the recent Lifetime documentary "Surviving R. Badu defended Kelly in the past and presented him at the 2015 Soul Train Awards as a person who "did more for Blacks than anyone else".
The Guardian notes that last year she gave an interview to New York magazine in which she declared her love for Bill Cosby and said, "I see good in everyone. I saw something good to Hitler "and I rented his paintings. She said that she did not regret these comments during a subsequent interview with the Guardian.
