Almost the entire music industry has spoken out against the disgusting claims made against the disgraced musician R. Kelly of Chicago, but Erykah Badu would apparently not be part of it. Badu fans were disappointed when she talked about Kelly during her show in Chicago on January 19th, apparently to defend him.
I really want to say how much I enjoyed the Erykah Badu concert tonight.
But I can not understand how she tried to justify and defend R. Kelly's actions and reputation during her set … I'm so disappointed …

"And if one of the people who had been attacked by R. Kelly became a delinquent?" Badu reportedly asked the audience. "Are we going to crucify them too?" There is no video of her saying that, but apparently the play has mostly booed for her comments. This is the first time she talks about the charges against R. Kelly since the release of Lifetime Survive R. Kelly docuseries were distributed.

Erykah Badu came to Chicago and told us that she loved R Kelly very much anyway and that we can keep our opinion to ourselves. Mad disrespectful to our city and a shitty use of its platform. Crunchy donkey bitch.

At the Soul Train Awards 2017, Erykah Badu said that R. Kelly had "done more for blacks than anyone else". Badu was criticized for defending controversial personalities, claiming that she saw good in everyone. She said she even saw the good to Hitler, calling him "a wonderful painter".
