Ethiopian Airlines has announced that it has finalized all preparations for the launch of a flight three times a week to Marseille, the second largest city in France, as of July 2nd.
The connectivity between Europe and Africa must facilitate trade, investment, tourism and people-to-people relations, said Tewolde GebreMariam, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines.
"We are very pleased to launch flights to Marseille, connecting the second largest city in France with the more than 60 African destinations served by our hub in Addis Ababa.
"We have been serving Paris since 1971, more than 48 years old. We are not new to the French market. But we are very happy to extend our services closer to the customer in Marseille now.
"As we move towards the growth and success envisioned in Vision 2025, we will continue to open new avenues around the world to bring Africa closer to the world," added GebreMariam.
Marseille is the 20th destination of Ethiopian in Europe.
Ethiopian currently serves 120 international destinations on five continents with young aircraft with an average fleet of five years.
The number of pbadenger flights operated by the airline to European cities will be increased to 61 per week.
