The Center for Public Discourse Analysis (CPDA), a think tank on research, is expected to hold the first Vice Presidential Permutations Forum in Ghana to determine the selection of vice presidential candidates ahead of the 2020 elections .
Nicknamed "Live Campaign Analysis", it is organized under the theme "Vice Presidents' Forum on Permutations: Analysis of Key Qualifications and Candidates".
The forum scheduled for Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the Ghana Journalism Institute (GIJ) seeks to answer the following questions:
1) Who is in the running and who is most likely to become John Mahama's vice-presidential candidate?
2) Has Mahamadu Bawumia, current Vice President, changed the role or concept of Vice Presidency?
3) What are the essential qualities required for the position of Vice President?
4) Is Ghana ready for a vice president?
Etse Sikanku, political communications badyst, consultant and author, who will lead the forum's debates, said the forum would strengthen the country's democratic credentials.
"The forum is a new idea. This event is the first of its kind in Ghana's democracy and it hopes to serve as a barometer of public discourse on a position that will be crucial for the future of the nation, "said a statement from the CPDA.
