The MP made the remark in an interview with Citi News after presenting a GhC1000 check to the Winneba Mobile Money Merchant Association.
"One of the key areas that Effutu needs to take advantage of is University College. If we do not ask the University to contribute to a local content policy aimed at helping the private sector in Effutu, we will come to nothing.

Afenyo Markin has been accused of interference in school affairs. Some have blamed it for the troubles caused by students that resulted in the closure of the university several months ago.
He went on to explain that his interest in the University stemmed from his strategic position in the entire development process of his riding.
He said he wanted peace to reign in schools so as to positively influence the development of his constituents.
