Two students from the University of Winneba Education were arrested for defying a directive to leave the campus.
The school was closed Thursday after the riot of students became chaotic. Students had until 18 hours to leave school.
According to DSP Irene Oppong, a member of the Central Region PRO police, the two students were arrested in the corridors after the police went to routine checks on campus.
She explained that both had been arrested because there were activities after six in the evening that could be related to these two individuals.
They were handed over to the Winneba Police Command as investigations continue.
The University of Education Winneba was closed for an indefinite period following a third day of student protests against the school's vice chancellor.
Kwamina Duncan, chairman of the Central Region Security Council and also Minister of the Central Region, announced the closure of the school after visiting the campus on Thursday morning.
Kwamina Duncan told the media "in the opinion of the Regional Security Council, we can not allow the university to sit."
During the three days of demonstrations, the windows of the buildings and vehicles were broken.
Students also blocked roads and burned tires in the middle of the demonstrations.
Students say that there is a crisis of leadership at school and have demonstrated to demand the reinstatement of some sacked lecturers.
The police were forced to use tear gas to disperse student demonstrators.
In retaliation, the students threw stones at the police, making at least one policeman injured.
A police reinforcement team was sent to Accra this morning to restore calm on campus.
