Everton striker Richarlison backed coach Marco Silva despite a disappointing first season at Goodison Park.

The Toffees are 11th in the championship and could spend another season without European qualification or trophy, despite spending about 90 million pounds in summer.

But the Brazilian striker, who also played under Silva's orders in Watford, said the Portuguese boss has helped him grow since moving to Merseyside in July 2018.

"Marco Silva always talks to me during training, he always gives me tips to position myself in the zone," Richarlison told evertonfc.com.

"His training is essential for me and he trains me with the worry of being in the right place at the right time when the balls hit the surface so I can score more goals.

"I feel that I am growing more and more.

"I want to show that I can play at my best level for a whole season of the Premier League.I feel really good at Everton.My teammates help me with my confidence on the pitch and it's vital."

Sky Sports News He understands that Everton is about to turn down offers from a number of the best European clubs for Richarlison this summer.

The 22-year-old scored 12 goals in the league this season, but said that, along with his goal, his defensive work was one of the reasons he was so wanted.

"I think it's one of the things that first drew me to Watford – and then Everton's attention," Richarlison added.

"In addition to the basics – scoring goals – I come back to defend.

"It's something I've been doing since I was a kid, when I played at school, I always worked hard and defended myself.

"Today, in football, we can not focus solely on the attack, we must work for his teammates."
