Fred Swaniker, a world-renowned Ghanaian entrepreneur and expert in leadership development, has been named to Time Magazine's Most Influential People list in 2019.
Mo Ibrahim, entrepreneur in the telecommunications sector and chairman of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, introduced Swaniker, a high-performance Ghanaian, to the "pioneers" section of Time magazine's list published today, April 16, 2019 .

Fred Swaniker, 43, is dedicated to becoming one of Africa's leading leaders, Ibrahim said.
He paid tribute to Swaniker's educational enterprises, including the African Leadership Academy, African Leadership Network and African Leadership University, which aim to train three million leaders for the future.

"Fred has the pbadion, the understanding and the ability to advance this great continent, through his young people. I am filled with hope knowing that he is here to help the next generation of African leaders to flourish ", Ibrahim noticed.
In April 2019, Rwandan President Paul Kagame appointed Swaniker as President of the Rwanda Convention Bureau (RCB), responsible for developing tourism in Rwanda.
Egyptian and Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and multiple South African World Champions and Olympic Athletics Caster Semenya are among the African personalities on the list.
About time 100
Time 100 (often referred to as TIME 100) is an annual list of the 100 most influential personalities in the world collected by the American Time magazine.

The list was first published in 1999 as a result of a debate between academics, politicians and US journalists. The widely revered event is highly publicized.
Although it is an honor to appear on the list, Time pointed out that he recognized people their significant impact on the world, regardless of the consequences of their actions.
The influential people on the list are exclusively selected by Time publishers with nominations from TIME 100 alumni and the magazine's international staff.
The general public selects only the winner of the Reader's survey, completed a few days before the publication of the official list.
