Experts Call for Plan to Fight Rise in Thyroid Cancer Cases

The two-day conference on thyroid cancer, organized by the Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) on the theme "Current Standards and New Prospects," was completed yesterday.
Conference participants discussed the reasons for the marked increase in the incidence of thyroid cancer over the last three years, the number of people infected being 51 in 2015, while about 110 recorded in 2018, an increase of more than 100%.
Participants agreed to develop an implementation plan for the early thyroid cancer screening program in cooperation with the Qatar health authorities.
