ExpressJet Airlines, a United Express carrier, has announced the opening of a flight crew base at Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) to support its growing fleet of new Embraer E175 aircraft.
"We are excited to expand our E175 footprint to include Chicago's Hare," said Chief Executive Officer Subodh Karnik. "O'Hare is a highly desirable base for our crew members thanks to its easy connectivity, for both Chicago residents and those traveling to other cities."
ExpressJet began flying E175s in June and will expand its fleet to 25 aircraft by the end of the year. He currently has an E175 crew base at Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).
To support its rapid growth, ExpressJet will hire more than 600 new pilots in 2019. The ExpressJet pilots benefit from state-of-the-art compensation, work rules and a quality of life, as well as A direct route to a pilot career at United Airlines via the United Career Path Program. Pilots who sign up with ExpressJet can expect a quick selection process, an immediate clbad date and an offer of aircraft within three months.
