The Kasoa Divisional Police Command arrested 14 people suspected of being fake army officers in Gomoa Fetteh, in the central region.

This statement followed a report presented to the police by Omankrado of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Kwesi Quansah.

With a joint team of police and armies, the operation was conducted over the weekend to close the suspected officer's base.

Items such as military bags, boots, uniforms, identity cards, military caps, among others, were recovered from the suspects.

According to Gomoa Ojobi District Police Chief, DSP David Osei Fofie, investigations into the true identity of suspected counterfeit officers are ongoing.

"We are collaborating with the military to identify the person who brought them to this area, whether or not they are real army officers," Fofie DSP told the media in Twi .

He noted that those arrested had mentioned a Kabikay as the one who brought them to the area.

The DSP David Osei Fofie said the arrested people had been brought to court in Kasoa. The court subsequently placed them in custody. They should reappear on February 6, 2019.

At the same time, the Kasala Divisional Police Command arrested Nana Kabikay, 65, suspected of being behind the illegal military camp.

According to the police, Nana Kabikay allegedly hired the alleged military for the badbadination of the Omankrado of Gomoa Fetteh Nana Kwesi Quansah I.

A statement was made about Nana Kabikay, who was arrested in Dansoman, Accra, and is being tried.
