The latest game coming in Tesla's huge multimedia information center is Bethesda Anti-atomic shelter, the free post-apocalyptic spin-off title released on mobile devices in 2015.
The announcement was made this afternoon by Todd Howard of Bethesda Game Studios, the director of Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 and the executive producer of Anti-atomic shelter. The game joins indie platformer Copper, announced for Tesla earlier this month, and a series of Atari clbadics delivered to the electric vehicle last August.
Howard spoke today alongside Tesla President Elon Musk, live at Geoff Keighley's E3 Coliseum event, during which Musk made some other announcements about Tesla related to entertainment. Musk said YouTube is for Tesla vehicles. He also showed a video of a game demo for Beach Buggy Racing 2, an Android runner from the Mobile Vector Unit developer. But on the Tesla platform, you can use the steering wheel of the actual car to steer your vehicle into the game. We have no release date for games or streaming to YouTube.
These ads are definitely a zany fun for Tesla – Howard joked with Musk, which they might try to bring. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to the car. But Musk is a pbadionate gamer who became very interested in technology by developing his own video game before becoming a teenager. For this reason, it is trying to turn the Tesla platform into a mainstream software ecosystem capable of supporting all kinds of entertainment applications, including mobile and even console games.
Video games on your Tesla touch screen will not really be a selling point for the electric vehicle; The chances are that if you are excited about this, you own a Tesla or hope to become one someday. But it's interesting how the Tesla platform can be robust and speculate on its future.
Let's keep our fingers crossed with this self-driving technology that allows us one day to play these games without having to keep our eyes on the road. Until then, playing Copper or Fallour Shelter while driving you seem both dangerous and illegal.
