False "nurse" imprisoned 22 months

Accra, July 18, GNA – The Madina District
The Court sentenced Francis Awine Anaafo, a 33-year-old registered nurse
trainee to 22 months imprisonment for using false documents to impersonate and
perform a national service at the Goaso Municipal Hospital

Anaafo was previously removed from the
College of Nursing and Midwifery Training in Sekondi in Western Region

He was accused of defrauding by fake
pretense and impersonation with the help of the fake document to represent oneself
qualified nurse at the hospital and was sentenced after the trial.

Mr. Anaafo pleaded not guilty to
charges.

According to the February 21 charge,
2019, the medical superintendent of the Goaso Municipal Hospital wrote to
informs the Council of Nurses and Midwives (NMC) that Mr Anaafo, who was then
using the name Simon Yaw Woli was underperforming so it should be
