After eight films that raised nearly $ 5 billion worldwide, the Fast & Furious franchise now features its first stand-alone vehicle: Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham resume their roles as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
Hobbs (Johnson), a loyal agent of the US diplomatic security service, and Shaw (Statham), a lawless fool, a former member of the British military elite, faced for the first time in the first clash of Furious 7 in 2015, the duo swapped the words as they tried to lower them.
But when Brixton (Idris Elba), a cyber-genetically improved anarchist, takes control of an insidious biological threat that could alter humanity forever – and gives the benefit to an awesome MI6 agent and Intrepid (The Crown's Vanessa Kirby), who happens to be Shaw's sister – these two sworn enemies will have to partner to bring down the only guy who could be meaner than themselves.
Hobbs & Shaw opens a new door in the universe of Fast, which is spreading across the globe, from Los Angeles to London and toxic Chernobyl waste lands to the lush beauty of Samoa.
Directed by David Leitch (Deadpool 2) after a screenplay by Chris Morgan, longtime narrative architect in Fast & Furious, the film is produced by Morgan, Johnson, Statham and Hiram Garcia. The executive producers are Dany Garcia, Kelly McCormick, Steven Chasman, Ethan Smith and Ainsley Davies.
