Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has become a shock target for the Turkish giant Fenerbahce.

Gyan's time at Kayserispor has been marked by minor injuries since joining the Shanghai Chinese SIPG team in 2017.

According to a publication on the Turkish website Fotospor, Fenerbahce is trying to catch up with the 33-year-old despite his injury problems.

In 2010, Gyan had been transferred to Fenerbahce for £ 10 million, but the deal was hijacked by Sunderland, then a member of the Premiership.

According to the report, the Canaries want to pair the former Sunderland hitman with their compatriot Andre Ayew.

The Istanbul-based organization reportedly contacted Ayew's parent club, Swansea City, to make its permanent loan agreement.

Ayew joined the club with a loan from the Swans long season and emerged as one of the club's key figures.

Both players scored a total of 6 goals for their respective clubs – Ayew achieving 5 and Gyan 1.

Both players are expected to lead Ghana's attack at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt in June.
