(Reuters) – Chelsea has appealed the decision of the FIFA Appeal Board against a one-year transfer ban. The case will be heard on April 11, announced Monday the World Sports Federation.
The English Premier League club was not allowed to register new players in the next two windows and was fined 600,000 Swiss francs (457,138 pounds) after being convicted of Violating the rules regarding the recruitment of foreign players under 18 years of age.
FIFA this month rejected Chelsea's request to freeze the ban during the appeal process.
Chelsea can bring the case to the sports arbitration tribunal, as other clubs have done in the past.
