The NDC had previously proposed that the Peace Council mediate the process to ensure that both parties reach a consensus to dissolve the militancy.

Although the NPP expressed dissatisfaction with the NDC's refusal to set a date and venue for last week's meeting, the party has indicated its willingness to make the necessary compromise to help find a lasting solution to the NPC's militia. left.

In a letter to the Council, signed by their Secretary General, John Boadu, on Monday, March 25, 2019, the NPP stated that it had taken note of NDC's request for greater stakeholder involvement, including the availability of a mediator.

"While nuclear power plants have absolutely no problem with their request, we are not sure, in the first place, of the nature of the mediation, the extent of the commitments of stakeholders and stakeholders to invite, including because they (the NDC) have also suggested international organization, including ECOWAS and the AU, to participate, "said the party.

The party explained that amidst its uncertainty, she had told the NDC the need for both of them to meet and hear about the modalities of participation.

"Although this seems to defeat our request, the NPP is nevertheless prepared to make the necessary compromise with respect to the party's initial position on the issue and to avail itself of your instructions accordingly," he said. the letter.

The ruling party said it had "absolute confidence" in the Council to badume the role of moderator in the deliberations and contribute to the search for a lasting solution to the chancre of partisan militias.

In response to this letter, Acting Secretary of the Council, George Amoah, wrote to the NEC informing the party of the NPP's position on its suggestions as well as their willingness to continue the meeting.
