School principal Polycarp Kuusokub confirmed the incident.

According to the director, the school administration will set up a committee made up of a few teachers and students on Monday to investigate the cause of the fire while awaiting the firefighters’ report.
“I cannot say the precise cause of the fire. tomorrow [ Monday], we will also set up our commission for our own investigations to establish the cause of the fire, while I wait for the report of the firefighters to see what I will do.
Although the cause of the fire is not yet known, the fire department noted the lack of fire extinguishers in the school and advised the school administration to obtain them. procure.
“Today at approximately 9:23 am we received a call from our national control room regarding a fire in St. Charles. So the nearest fire station, which is the Tamale University Hospital fire station, was dispatched. Along the way, they got stranded around 9:27 a.m., so a second station, the Tamale Metro Fire Station was dispatched, and they got to the scene around 9:34 a.m., and when they got there, the six classrooms , four offices and a warehouse were on fire, so they tried to fight and subdue it, ”said DO III Tisong Charles, head of northern regional operations for the Ghana National Fire Service.
