Over fifty shops at Madina Shopping Center located within the La-Nkwantanan district of Greater Accra region.
The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, April 8, 2019.
Narrating the incident, La-Nkwantanan Municipal director of the National Disaster Management Organization, Mr Foster Atta told Hot 93.9FM's news reporter Ernestina Mawufemor Afake that:
"The fire started around 1 millet shops, dressmaking shops, and cold stores" .He told Hot 93.9FM
"But the cause of the fire is not necessarily going to be investigated."
Mr.Attah urged all store owners to have fire extinguishers in their respective shops in order to prevent future occurrence.
