Automatic playback of audio tracks and videos on websites can be a problem for users. Mozilla promises with the next version of Firefox finally remedy.
As Mozilla announces in a blog post, the latest version of the Mozilla browser will automatically remove audible content video playback. In Firefox 66, all content that contains an audio track that is playing is blocked by the default settings. Only an interaction with the object, such as a click on the play button, activates the soundtrack. Automatic video playback without sound will continue to be allowed, so Mozilla is enabled. Users can add exceptions for web pages where all content should be played automatically, which the browser will notice later.
The new version of Firefox with the automatic reading blocker should be released on March 19th. The browser version 65 was released a few days ago and can be downloaded from the freeware library of "Swiss IT Magazine". However, the beta version of Firefox 66 can already be downloaded and tested on Mozilla today.
