President Akufo-Addo informed residents of the Volta region that ten contracts have been awarded to contractors for the construction of the Tema Eastern Corridor road to the north.
The Peki-Have road, which is part of the government project, he said, has been awarded to First Sky Limited, a proven construction company.
According to the president, work on the section would start soon.
“Ten contracts have been awarded for the East Corridor road and one of them which is the Peki-Have road, to a very good contractor who is doing very well, First Sky Limited and very soon you will see the action “, did he declare.
President Akufo-Addo made the announcement during his visit to the residents of North Dayi during his tour of the region on Friday, September 10.
During a durbar, he assured that on his return to the capital, Accra, the problems concerning the expansion and extension of the water supply in all parts of the district, the construction of facilities in the high schools, among others, would be treated.
These plans, he noted, would also respond to some grievances presented by Supreme Leader Togbe Tepre Hodo IV aimed at improving the living conditions of citizens in the region.
According to the president, he hopes the New Patriotic Party will secure the constituency of North Dayi in the 2024 general election to add to the seat of Hohoe.
During his tour, President Akufo-Addo was accompanied by some sector ministers, including the Minister of Railway Development and Hohoe Constituency MP John-Peter Amewu.
