The death of five people was confirmed after a shower of about 3 hours Sunday.

According to the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), four of the bodies were found at Adjei Kojo in Ashaiman and another at Odorna.

Speaking on Citi FM, based in Accra, George Awusi, NADMO's public relations officer, said that the body of a six-year-old child allegedly washed away by the waters of Sowutuom. has still not been found.

"We are always looking for the child's body. At the Odorna circle, two people drowned and a body was found. In fact, there are about 5 people who are confirmed dead. Where the army van has fallen, another body has been found next to the three people in the bucket of the van, "he said.

Sunday rains flooded many areas in Accra.

The Meteorological Agency of Ghana (GMet) has already alerted on the rains, stating that "a rainstorm in the southern regions of Togo is expected to affect parts of the southern half of the country".

The rainstorm according to the Agency affected areas such as Kpetoe, Akatsi, Ho, Kpandu and surrounding areas in the Volta region.

In the eastern region, areas such as Koforidua, Begoro and Nkawkaw have also been affected.

Dodowa, Amasama, Afienya and many areas of Accra have also experienced heavy rains.

Last week, a similar incident killed five people in Accra.
