Have you ever had the impression that Steve Jobs was just bothering you for fun? That's what I thought when I opened iTunes 10 and saw the Minimize, Maximize and Close buttons on the left side of the window, instead of lining up.
Moving the buttons there goes against everything about the design of OS X. This is an unusual gesture on the part of Apple, unless they plan to move the buttons to the side for all of their applications, which seems unlikely. Do not worry, there is a very simple solution to this quirk if you want to bring uniformity back to OS X.
First: Quit iTunes.
Second: Open Terminal (if you are not familiar with it, it is under Applications> Utilities> Terminal)
Third: Type or paste the following text into Terminal, and then press ENTER. "Default values write com.apple.iTunes full-window -1"
Fourth: Open iTunes and note that the balance has been restored.
UpdateHere's a mod, courtesy of Obama Pacman, on how to restore the color of the icons in the left sidebar. I have not tried because I like the unity of the new gray, but if you claim colors, try your luck.
