Some Ghanaians living in Germany greeted President Akufo-Addo with chants of FixTheCountry upon his arrival in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The President is on an official week-long trip to Germany. He is also expected to hold a meeting with officials from Pfizer-BioNTech, a maker of Covid-19 vaccines.
He had just arrived at the place where he was invited to give a speech as part of the celebrations of the 75e Rhine-Westphalia anniversary when the waiting protesters chanted: “Nana, fix the country, we beg,” one of them said.
“Nana is fixing the country, we want to go home,” said another.
Regardless, the president approached them and briefly exchanged pleasantries with them.
“We have oil, we have gold and cocoa, but we are suffering here. Fix the country for us, so we can be better people. We are not a poor country, ”said another.
