Members of the pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) group ‘Fixing The Country Movement’ say they will embark on a sustained national campaign to correct the lies that members of the ‘FixTheCountry’ crusaders have peddled about Akufo power -Addo- government led.

According to the group, “FixTheCountry” activists, who are motivated and influenced by members of the opposition, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), seek to make the ruling party unpopular through false propaganda.

At a press conference in Accra on Monday, August 16, 2021, the group’s founder, Ernest Owusu Bempah said that while members of the “Fixing The Country Movement” are not against “FixTheCountry” activists, they are not against “FixTheCountry” activists. would tolerate any plot to peddle lies about the government led by Akufo-Addo.

“As a movement, we will embark on a nationwide sustained campaign in the 16 regions to spread the good works of Akufo-Addo to mend the country,” he said, stressing that the president Akufo-Addo was fixing the mess that the NDC opposition left in 2016, and therefore an overnight transformation of the country as demanded by the “FixTheCountry” crusaders was impossible.

For him, the Akufo-Addo government in its first term had achieved massive infrastructural development than any other government under the country’s Fourth Republic.

Mr. Owusu Bempah, public relations manager of the Ghana Gas Company, noted that the Crusaders of “FixTheCountry” were determined to peddle the lie and were not ready to face facts and reality because of their agenda. evil aimed at destroying the government in power.

He said President Akufo-Addo created more social and youth-focused interventions aimed at alleviating the suffering of Ghanaian youth than any other government in the country’s history, citing the Free Senior High School, One-District- One-Factory, Digitization, Free Technical and Vocational Education, Planting for Food and Employment, Restoration of Allowances for Teachers and Nursing Trainees, Stimulus Scholarship Secretariat, Nation Builders Corps, Youth in Afforestation, NEIP, the scaled-up projects and the Ghana Enterprises Agency as some of the interventions.

“We can boldly describe President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s first term as a resounding success,” said Mr. Owusu Bempah, adding that “the reality is that we have been going through a big change for four and a half years, and with each year it only seems to grow exponentially. Denial of this does not deny that it has happened and will continue to happen. “

He stressed that: “The movement is very aware of the considerable gains that the country has achieved under the exemplary leadership of President Akufo-Addo. This attests to the fact that the country is being repaired.

He noted that under the administration led by Akufo-Addo, the economy, which until then had high inflation, a high budget deficit, a depreciating cedi and depleting gross international reserves, has fully recovered.

“The macroeconomic indices attest to this feat with several indicators showing fantastic results never achieved in the history of Ghana,” he said.

Mr. Owusu Bempah said that regarding the unemployment situation in the country, President Akufo-Addo had done a lot to reduce the rate, saying that “the Akufo-Addo administration has recruited nurses, doctors and other healthcare workers, teachers, police officers, and many more in the public sector after many years of job freezes under the previous government. At least 550,000 public sector workers recruited.
