According to American Airlines, a Boston-New York flight had a unique reason to change course after the plane hit a bird.

The airline said flight 2163 connecting Logan International Airport to New York's LaGuardia Airport had returned to Boston on Sunday morning after taking off at 10:08 after "the aircraft had hit a bird's eye".

American Airlines said the flight landed in Boston 11 minutes after the initial takeoff and landed at the door.

The pbadengers then boarded a replacement aircraft and took off at 11:52 to travel to New York after a delay of almost two hours.
