The military couple drowned after the torrential rain of Sunday
The child belonging to the military couple who drowned on Sunday night is missing.
Officials from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) are making frantic efforts to locate the child who was with the parents in the car when the incident occurred in Adje -Kojo, in the municipality of Tema West, in the Greater Accra region.
In confirming the incidence, George Awusi, NADMO's Public Relations Officer (NADMO), said they could not conclude that the child was dead because they had not found the body yet.
According to the information available to DGN Online, the victims were traveling from the community 7 to Tema where they had attended a funeral of friends and were traveling to Accra after the accident on the highway.
In an interview with DGN Online, Dr. Richard Anthony, medical director of the Tema General Hospital, explained that 11 civilians who were on board the military van were brought to his outfit for medical care.
According to him, two of them suffered minor injuries to the forehead and leg.
The rest, he said were processed and unloaded.
Four people were found in the gutters around Adjei-Kojo along the Tema-Accra highway after the accident.
A military couple, Staff Sergeant Arthur Jabez and Adjutant Sarah W. Kuadzi were in a military truck involved in the Ashiaman accident during the Sunday evening rains. .
Since then, NADMO has confirmed the death of seven people in total after three hours of showers.
The bodies were found in Adjei Kojo in Ashaiman and another in Odawna in Accra.
