Football superstar Neymar is interrogated by Brazilian police and denies rape allegations

SAO PAULO: Brazilian football star Neymar spent about five hours in a police station on Thursday to question the rape charges against him.
Prosecutor Flavia Merlini told reporters that the player "denies the charges and answers (questions) satisfactorily".
The woman who accuses her of having raped her in a Paris hotel last month has already spoken to the police in Sao Paulo, where she filed her complaint.
Neymar was accompanied by his lawyers at Thursday's meeting.
"He answered all the questions," said Merlini. "The investigator will take other necessary measures until the conclusion of the investigation. Since the probe is secret, we can not talk about these measures. "
Just before leaving in the evening, Neymar said, "The truth is coming sooner or later." He also thanked the fans for their support.
Dressed in a black suit, the player was using crutches because of an injury to his right ankle when he arrived at the station in the middle of the afternoon. Investigator Juliana Bussacos met him at the entrance, in the middle of a media frenzy, as nearly 200 spectators applauded Brazil's most recognizable young player, Neymar, 27 years old.
The player is currently under investigation in Rio de Janeiro for posting images of her accuser on social media without her permission.
The Associated Press does not name alleged victims of badual badault unless they make their identities public, which Najila Trindade, a 26-year-old model, did in interviews with Brazilian television.
Also Thursday, Trindade announced that she had chosen her fourth lawyer to take care of the case. The previous three decided to leave the case.
Neymar's plane landed at Sao Paulo's Congonhas airport and was taken to the police station in a black van. The player is from his mansion located in the city of Mangaratiba, near Rio de Janeiro.
