Harry Kane believes England’s luck could finally turn at Euro 2020, with the Three Lions skipper admitting ‘for once it has fallen on us’ as he sacked Gareth Southgate’s side to a first grand international final since 1966.
The Tottenham forward, who put aside speculation about his club’s future, scored the game-winning goal in a thrilling semi-final showdown with Denmark that required extra time to separate the two sides .
Kane saw a late penalty saved by Kasper Schmeichel in that game, but the ball snapped nicely for him and a rebound was scored at home to spark crazy celebratory scenes at Wembley and across the country.

Reacting to his good fortune there and another momentous summer for English football, Kane said ITV Sport: “For once, it hit us today.
“Credit to the boys – what a performance. After losing 1-0, we reacted very well and controlled the game, and dug deep into extra time.
“Obviously it wasn’t the penalty I wanted to take, it went lower than I thought it would, and it was just a bonus to see it bounce back and bring it home.
“This is the first time in our history as a nation to qualify for the European final at Wembley, and it is certainly one of the proudest moments of my life.
“But we haven’t won it yet, we have one left to play.”

His duck was shattered in the round of 16 against Germany, before scoring a brace in a Ukraine quarter-final rout and an invaluable effort in the last four against Denmark.
As a result, he remains on the hunt for another Golden Boot, having clinched this award at the 2018 World Cup, and is now England’s co-top scorer in international tournaments with 10 efforts to his active – the same return as Gary Lineker.
