Former deputy director of Chelsea, Gianfranco Zola, revealed that he would like to hold a senior position in England. Zola, who was the Blues boss's badistant to Maurizio Sarri last season, was sacked by the West London club this summer after choosing to name club legend, Frank Lampard, at the head of the team. Lampard is about to bring in new staff, which could include some other blues legends.
"I was head coach before and my main ambition is to come back to it. But working for Maurizio and Chelsea was an excellent opportunity, said Zola quoted by Metro.
"I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the players, all the coaching staff, all the fans and the club for this wonderful year.
"Chelsea is in my heart and I was so proud to do so much for the club.
"The most important thing is that I want to continue my future.
"I would like to stay in England. I will have to wait and see what happens now. "
Zola, 52, has management experience in England after leading West Ham, Watford and Birmingham City. His experience in English and his Italian identity probably played a key role in why Sarri chose to appoint his badistant before last season. The dismissal of Zola by Chelsea can be considered hard enough because he did nothing wrong.
The three maneuvers of Zola in England were not quite successful and during his last visit to Birmingham, he won only two of the 24 games in charge. This would certainly have prevented many English clubs from recruiting him. The best stay he could have had with Watford was the 2012-2013. He led the Hornets to 33 games out of 75, with a winning percentage of 44%, which is modest. At the time of his return by Watford, the club was ranked 13th in the championship standings.

His experience with Chelsea would have probably helped him
Sarri would probably have learned a lot from his experience as an badistant at Chelsea, which could help him land future jobs. Although it is difficult to see many Premier League clubs choosing him based on his track record, he may be attracting offers from championship clubs and perhaps other midfielder clubs from the top five European leagues.
