Former Norwich City midfielder Tim Sherwood is leading the list of future bookmakers as search for Steve McClaren's replacement begins before Saturday's clash against the Canaries.

The Rs sacked their former English boss McClaren on Monday after a 2-1 home defeat against modest Bolton on Saturday, leaving them one win in 15 league games, leaving them 17th in the standings and eight points in the relegation zone .

Deputy Director John Eustace was put in charge by the time the Rangers begin their search, as well as the man in distress for the Saturday afternoon televised match at Carrow Road (12:30).

Sherwood, who played 88 games with Norwich between 1989 and 1992, is the friend of Tottenham's former teammate, Ferdinand, director of QPR Football.

He had brief stays and mostly unsuccessful as a manager at Spurs and Aston Villa, before moving to a position of football director at Swindon Town in 2015-16, which resulted in a relegation to League Two.

Mark Warburton, former boss of the Brentford and Glasgow Rangers, will be next at 5/1, ahead of former QPR midfielder Gareth Ainsworth at 8/1, who has been leading Wycombe Wanderers since 2012.
