Mole National Park is Ghana's largest national park and offers the best wildlife experience in Ghana. It was the first national park to be created in Ghana.
The park is home to the largest diversity of wildlife in Ghana and is the only place in Ghana where you can experience elephants in the wild.

Because of the lack of predators, safaris can be done on foot – a unique experience quite different from that of vehicles in southern and eastern Africa. Walking so close to elephants is an exhilarating experience that you will never forget!

Walking safaris usually take place early in the morning, at 6 am and late afternoon from 4 pm. These can last from 2 hours to 4 hours and are guided by an armed forest ranger.
Another option is to go on a driving safari, always with an armed ranger. These can last up to a full day and allow you to cover a much larger area of the park.

The Mole Park Lodge has an observation deck that overlooks a water point. Especially during the dry season (mid-December to mid-April), you will usually see herds of elephants grazing and swimming early in the morning or evening, a few hours before sunset.
During your stay at Mole National Park, we also recommend visiting the ancient Larchanga mud and stick mosque. This mosque is extraordinarily beautiful, but because of the hbadles of Larabanga, we recommend having your guide on your arrival.
Another fun excursion is the nearby Mognori Cultural Village for a canoe safari or cultural program featuring percussion and dancing.
