Former Watford owner Laurence Bbadini has become a potential buyer of Bolton Wanderers.

The short-running championship club, desperate for a takeover, is scheduled to visit the High Court next week, where it could be threatened with liquidation.

And the 48-year-old, whose controversial spell at the Hornets has seen the club placed under embargo on transfers, is vying to buy Bolton at current incumbent Ken Anderson.

It is understood that Bbadini, twice declared bankrupt, is one of many interested parties and that no decision on the sale has yet been taken.

The club had informed staff earlier this week that a takeover could take place before the weekend.

Bolton also faces the immediate threat of being relegated to the League One and getting to QPR on Saturday at eight points of safety.
