The PRO police said the suspect had served as a lure and had led the police to arrest Jariah Abubakar and Monica Asare in Nyinasin and Abura respectively.

Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that to save her marriage, Florence Eshun, a sterile woman, had approached Maxwell Otoo to Asebu and had implored him to help foil a nursing mother and steal her baby. .

In addition, preliminary investigations revealed that on April 10, 2019, Florence Eshun went to Cape Coast and returned with Monica Asare, who claimed to be a nurse.

DSP Irene Oppong said that Monica Asare had given the Complainant Comfort Fenyi GHc10 and implored her to allow her to carry her baby while she was buying a cream to apply on her skin.

"Comfort Fenyi came back from the race only to find out that the woman had run away with her baby," said Irene Oppong.

The two suspects, after reaching their goal, fled by taxi to Abura, a suburb of Cape Coast.

In Abura, Florence Eshun paid 200 GH ¢ to Monica Asare and brought the baby to Jariah Abubakar in Nyinasin, preliminary investigations revealed.

DSP Irene Oppong said investigations into the case had been initiated and the suspects would soon be tried in court to answer the charges.
