Four Ghanaian nationals living in Nigeria have been deported, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration said.

In a statement dated May 30, 2019, the ministry said that the four people had been expelled on March 22, 2019, due to an alleged falsification of Nigerian identity.

"The Federal Republic of Nigeria of March 22, 2019 has expelled four Ghanaian nationals for falsifying the Nigerian identity," the statement added.

The deportees are Florence Donkor, Simon Gyan, Yeboah Collins and Alhaji Isa.

The ministry advised Ghanaian residents of Nigeria to abide by the country's laws to prevent such incidents.

"In Nigeria, Ghanaians are advised to abide by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in order to avoid any violation of the laws of the host country. "
