Muscat: Four new cases of coronavirus and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS-CoV) have been detected in Oman, according to Shabiba newspaper.
Patients diagnosed with viral respiratory disease receive medical treatment.
The Ministry of Health has so far notified 18 confirmed cases across the Sultanate of Oman since 2013.
He issued a statement stressing that considerable efforts were being made to monitor and control the disease through an epidemiological surveillance system.
The statement calls on citizens and residents to comply with preventive measures to control infection and maintain hygiene during sneezing and coughing.
