(Reuters) – Taiwan-based manufacturer Foxconn, which badembles Apple's iPhones Inc., said Terry Gou would remain president of the world's largest contract manufacturer, although he plans to pull out of daily business.

Foxconn's statement comes after Reuters announced that Gou plans to step down in the coming months to allow young talent to climb the ladder of society.

"His desire is to withdraw from daily operations after developing and mentoring a new generation of talent to carry out Foxconn's mission. As President, Mr. Gou will continue to provide direction and strategic direction, "Foxconn said.
