PARIS (Reuters) – France will declare the state of natural disaster after heavy rains and hail storms ravaged crops in southeastern France, the agriculture minister said on Saturday. , Didier Guillaume.

A German tourist was killed by the fall of a tree at a campsite in Haute-Savoie and 10 people were slightly injured in the departments of Drome and Isere, the minister said.

Guillaume was speaking on LCI and BFM television channels while he was rushing into the Drome, one of the most affected regions.

It did not specify to which regions the disaster measure would apply.

"Everything will be done to help. The state of natural disaster will be declared, "said Guillaume.

"The goal is that no farmer is forced to close his doors. We have to declare a general mobilization, "he added.
