French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe welcomed the increased investment in France, especially from Britain.
The government figures show what Philippe called a "significant increase" of 33% of British investment in 2018 compared to the previous year.

The statistics published today also show that the actual amounts invested in France by foreign companies have also increased.
Nearly 25% of foreign investment is concentrated in industry, according to the French Prime Minister, who said that 10% were earmarked for research and development.
