Francesco Citterio, Clbad 79, Italian designer is the author of Swallow.
Swallow is a project of interior design contemporary, it is a product of regeneration if we want, in which the old techniques of cabinetmaking and inlay find a second life, a new dignity and a new personality merged judiciously with modern knowledge.

Swallow is based on an idea of modularity and sinuosity given by the processing of natural and precious materials, such as solid ash and beech wood. The two woods have a different shape, are reproduced and badembled to create an infinity of combinations of furniture. The ashes are used for the thicker and more robust "female" section, while the beech for the smaller "male" section.

The strength of the project is the joint in dovetail, a technique dating from the artisans of ancient Egypt and used with boldness by the designer Francesco Citterio. Thanks to that, Swallow can be composed and broken down by hand, just insert the tapes into another one.
As in games for children, the customer can easily create the desired shape with his hands without the need for glue or screws.
swallow represents the regeneration of furniture and furnishings, is part of a society where the profitability of industrial production processes has allowed to diffuse any type of furniture, losing sight of the value and the value of the produced product by hand.
