Frank Lampard was thrilled with the debut of Christian Pulisic in Chelsea against Kawasaki Frontale.

Chelsea fans have long been waiting for a first glimpse of the American international winger in action, knowing that he was recruited in January for a cost of 58 million pounds sterling.

The 20-year-old was loaned to Borussia Dortmund for the remainder of last season and was only tied to his new teammates earlier this week after his involvement in the CONCACAF Gold Cup earlier this summer.

Pulisic was introduced as a substitute in the 65th minute against the J-League team and immediately attracted attention with his ability to dribble and his willingness to face opponents.

"Good, good," said Lampard when asked to rate Pulisic's contribution in a 1-0 loss. "He spent a few days here practicing, so he was very impressed.

"He is comfortable on the ball and I think he should have had a penalty towards the end of the game.

"He wants to try to hire players, the kind of players that fans will love, so we have to give him some time to adjust slightly.

"But his way of training, his way of playing with his personality are very good, so I'm really excited to have him."
