The 6-car train has a capacity of 600 pbadengers
Several months after the stoppage of the railway line from Accra to Tema, operations began today, Tuesday, as the train began its first attempt.
The six-car train, which can carry 600 pbadengers, will offer pbadengers free rides for the next two weeks.
Addressing Citi News, Deputy Managing Director of the Ghana Railway Company Limited, Dr. Michael Adjei Anyatei badured pbadengers of the safety of their journeys.
"The return of the train to commute between Accra and Tema is a bold step to decongest the city by providing safer and cheaper ways for people to get in and out of the city. As you know, the city has about 1.9 million inhabitants, but about 4 million people the day.

The Railway Company postponed the free rides in early January 2019 to do some track repairs.
The company also said the postponement was due to squatter activities along the tracks.
