The Grand Lodge of Ghana has denied the claims and perceptions that Freemasonry engaged in human and other sacrifices for wealth and power.

However, the Grand Master of the group, Navy Captain Kwadjo Adunkwa Butan, paid tribute to the fact that the primary purpose of Freemasonry is to serve and make the world a better place for humanity.
"We are human beings, like everyone else, we do not have special powers or secret deities that we worship, and being a freemason does not give money, power, or glory," he said on January 24, 2019, at the group's 10-year launch at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra.
Another member of the group, the Grand Lodge's Masonic Education Committee Chair, Right Worshipful, Abraham Gyasi, said in an interview that the group was rather philanthropic.
