Ghana Education Service (GES) has released a new academic calendar for the 2020/21 school year for KG, Primary, Middle School (JHS) and High School (SHS).
This post follows President Akufo-Addo’s 21st address to the nation on government handling of reopening schools.
“All SHS 1 students will start classes from March 10, with all students embarking on a single track academic calendar.
“Their elders from SHS 2 and SHS 3 will however return to school from January 18,” he announced.
According to the calendar published by GES, SHS 1 students will have respectively 1,080 and 1,440 contact hours in two semesters.
SHS 2 students who will still be on the Gold and Green slopes will both have 1,440 contact hours.
