You may have seen a social media announcement announcing an imminent increase in funeral wailing fees from "professional criers". That's true.
Potential customers must be willing to pay double the minimum of 2,000 Ghanaian cedis and the maximum of 4,000 Ghanaian cedis advertised for their services.
I caught up with one of the professional criers for a conversation in Kumasi.
Full of smile, Friend Dokli granted an interview, taking a workshop to talk with me.
"We do things normally, when you call us and you book for a funeral, we come to your house, we monitor the land, we evaluate it, then we charge you the price," she explained. .
She says that although they work in groups, they are not yet formally forming an badociation.
"We have no badociation but I learned recently that there were so many groups coming up."
Her group is made up of six widows who are all based in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti region.

Ms. Dokli, justifying the increase in their rates, told me that the high demand for their services, linked to rising fuel prices and general economic difficulties, pushed them to adjust their rates.
It reveals that five singers who charged 5,000 cedis per day from Ghana will now provide this service at 7,000 cedis and 8,000 cedis.
"A lot has changed too, because the demand is high, so we have to change our prices, we have to raise our prices," she said.
The upward adjustment follows discussions between her and other professional funeral criers. They have taken into account the rising prices of petroleum products and transport tariffs, she said.
According to Ms. Dokli, clients could pay even more, depending on the status of the deceased and their bereaved relatives, as well as the form of lamentation.
"You know that some funerals can not be overcharged, and some may be charged in a way that depends on the funeral."
People who die with many family members abroad allow criers to make more money.
