Gabrielle Union admits she will ‘claim a gastrointestinal issue’ to make time alone with her kids and husband
Gabrielle Union admits she retreats to the bathroom to spend time alone with her daughter Kaavia, husband Dwyane Wade and three two-year-old stepchildren.
The 48-year-old Bring It On actress revealed that when she needs a moment to herself from her very full house, she recycles the same undisputed excuse.
“ I can’t even do the facade, ” she joked in a new interview with Parents magazine. “I’m going to claim a gastrointestinal problem so quickly to have a little more time.

Apparently, the star’s bathroom escape is an increasingly popular trick among parents, according to a Tropicana survey conducted by Wakefield Research between October 29 and November 4 among 1,000 US residents.
The study found that 49% of mothers and fathers hide in the bathroom for much-needed space amid widespread coronavirus lockdowns.
Additionally, Union also finds solace in listening to positive affirmations, zoom therapy, and guided meditation.

In addition to her toddler and 38-year-old husband, she is also co-parents of children from Wade, Zaire, 18, Zaya, 13, and Xavier, seven, from her past relationships with her ex- wife Siohvaughn Funches and Basketball Wives’ alum Aja Metoyer.
Her mother, Jolinda Wade, and her mother, Theresa Union, alongside Gabrielle’s niece and sister, are also temporarily in quarantine with the couple at their 8,500-square-foot Los Angeles home.
Although she sometimes feels overwhelmed or cramped, she noted that she and her man felt “very lucky” to have “a very large village”.

“We all rely on each other and we all get confused. And when it gets too difficult, we offer grace, ”Union said of her family.
She also reminded other parents that asking for help does not “make” them a failure.
“The need for help doesn’t make you weak or vulnerable – it just means you need help like everyone else,” she said.
