Information reported tonight in Spain indicates that Wales star Gareth Bale is about to sign for Jiangsu Suning of the Chinese Super League.
According to Marca, a three-year contract was concluded with Bale to earn about 22 million euros per season.
The Spanish publication indicates that only minor details need to be sorted out and that his agent, Jonathan Barnett, has been in talks with the Far East official for a few weeks.
Relations between Bale and Real Madrid director Zinedine Zidane have been tense since the return of the Frenchman to Bernabeu and the affair has turned sharp over the past week.
The real boss revealed that it would be "better for everyone" if Bale left the Spanish capital, which prompted Barnett to call it "disgrace".
The Premier League teams, Manchester United and Tottenham, have been badociated with a move to Basel, while Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp recently called it "outstanding". Bayern Munich and PSG were also mentioned as possible destinations.
But his huge salary in Spain – estimated at around £ 600,000 a week – meant that a transfer to China still seemed possible, with Marca now declaring that an agreement could be settled imminently.
Jiangsu Suning has ties with Inter, a Serie A, after acquiring 70% stake in the Milan club.
