Gareth Bale's agent excludes Tottenham's replacement

The Welsh international striker Real Madrid, Gareth Bale, has denied links in the Spanish press linking the player to a return to his former club, Tottenham Hotspur.

Spanish sports newspaper Diario Marca wrote Tuesday morning that Real Madrid was ready to sell 50 million pounds to Bale, about half of what they had paid for him in 2013.

Madrid aims to strengthen his team for the new season and is known to want to sell Bale after already signed Eden Hazard, Rodrygo, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy and Luka Jovic this summer, but Jonathan Barnett, who represents the Welsh, was quick to deny the rumors.

"I never comment on waste," he said, questioned by Sky Sports about the possible move.

This is not the first time Barnett has denied that the 30-year-old will leave Real Madrid this summer, claiming in June that he was more likely to win a horse race at Royal Ascot.

Bale's salaries, which are said to be around £ 600,000 a week, would be a major hurdle for any club wishing to buy a player with a bad injury record, and Barnett also ruled out a contract loan.

Bale is currently in Montreal with the rest of Real Madrid for preparatory training, but with the transfer slot in the Premier League – its most likely destination – for its scheduled closure on August 9, any changes to Bale will have to take place during the three and a half weeks.
