The Knights of Columbus Garland County has scheduled 12 charity golf tournaments and the last 2 years have been played here in Hot Springs Village.
In 2018, the game was in Balboa and this year Magellan.
This year was a pivotal year for the CoC as it raised more than $ 100,000 in tuition fees for many students who were unable to pay school fees, at minimal or no cost to their families, allowing them to attend school. St. John's Catholic School from kindergarten to 8th grade.
More than 100 golfers started shooting at 9:30 am on Saturday, May 18th. Winners of the first flight with a 56, including Rob Camras, Ryan Camras, Tony Melugin and Ron Graves. Joe Dierks, Joe Patrico, Bob Kleinhenz and Stan Grise were the winners of the second flight. Among the winners of the third flight out of the following 68 were Father George Sanders, Danny Frazier, Lynn Peters and Danny Henry.
The other honors went to Jim Arnold, closest to the line at number 17; Ryan Camras, the closest to the flag on 17; Jerry Bertrand, the closest to the flag on the No. 6; Roger Thomason, the closest to the pin on the # 3; Father George Sanders, the closest flag to the number 11. A lunch and awards were served at the Balboa Pavilion.
The Kiwanis Club of HSV has more than 70 members who volunteer at local schools and actively support the Fountain Lake, Jessieville and Mountain Pine programs. The club also helps Cedar Mountain Boys and Girls Club.
